This year’s flu vaccine

Just like any other flu seasons, this year’s vaccine contains the unactivated, or dead, version of three viruses.

The vaccine is available to everyone over the age of 6 months.

The province of Ontario has stocked enough flu vaccine for everyone and they recommend that everyone get protected with a flu shot.

However, there are certain groups who are strongly recommended to get a flu shot. Click here for more information.

Getting a flu shot at the Health Unit

The Health Unit's community flu clinics are now over for 2011.

If you still need a flu shot, please visit your health care provider OR visit the weekly Wednesday immunization clinic.  Click here for more information on the clinic.

NOTE: In order for a child to be immunized, they must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Please contact a nurse at 625-5971 should you have any questions.

Other places you can get a flu shot

The flu vaccine is also available from your health care provider; call to find out if they are offering special clinics.

Some walk-in clinics and pharmacies also offer clinics so be on the lookout for that information.

Finally, some employers offer clinics so employees can get their flu shot at work.
